Virtual Food Drive
Jan 18 – Feb 28 all-day

We know that our parishioners are incredibly dedicated to supporting the ongoing ministry of the Riverwest Food Pantry. Although the pandemic has required the cancellation of all food drives for RWFP (including the physical donation of the “Item of the Week” at our parish Masses), we would like to support the Community of Generosity with a Virtual Food Drive! It’s easy! Instead of purchasing your Item of the Week and bringing it with you to Mass, all you have to do is visit https://yougivegoods.com/familyoffourparishes-jan-feb, click on your parish, and then SHOP! It really is that easy… and will have a lasting impact on supporting the needs of our neighbors. Let’s see what we can do! If you have any questions, please contact Laura Hancock at hancockl@archmil.org. Thank you for your generous giving!!

Prayer Service for Hope and Harmony
Jan 25 – Mar 1 all-day

After the events at the US Capitol on Wednesday January 6, our parish staff felt a need to respond in prayer. The people in our wonderful country were hurting, angry, losing hope and finding it hard to have a civil conversation. We also know that our hope is in God, and St. Paul tells us to “be anxious about nothing…. And  let your requests be made known to God.”

This prayer service was meant to encourage us to live in the love of Christ and to give us ways that we can be the Body of Christ to each other at this tender time in  history.

We hope it inspires you and gives you the courage to help make changes that will create a country where all can live together in peace and justice.

Singers – Meggie Moyer, Kate Sponholz
Piano – Mary Robertson
Guitar – Jonathan Kuta
Violin – Karyl Mary Lucey
Reader – Kristina Bruggeman
Leader of Prayer – Kate Sponholz
Introduction – Fr. Tim Kitze, Pastor

Thanks to Dave and Jerry from DV Productions for help in making this possible.

St. Vincent de Paul Collection
Feb 1 – Feb 28 all-day

Our St. Vincent de Paul Six Saints conference has been very busy during the pandemic. Although they have needed to adjust their procedures in meeting the needs of the poor in our community, those needs have not diminished in any way. If you would like to support the ministry of St. Vincent de Paul by offering donations of kitchen items (pots, pans, plates, silverware, cups etc.), household items (new or like-new bedding, new towels, etc.) or furniture, please contact Laura Hancock at hancockl@archmil.org or leave a message on her office voicemail 414-271-6577 and she will connect you with the chapter president to arrange for pick-up of your donation. Also, financial donations via cash or checks made out to St. Vincent de Paul are always appreciated. Please mail checks to Three Holy Women, Attn: Laura Hancock, 1716 N Humboldt Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202. Thank you for your ongoing generosity!

UPLIFT Families Wednesday Program
Mar 3 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

“Uniting People Living in Faith and Truth” (UPLIFT) Family Formation Program is our religious education program serving the parents and children of Old St. Mary, Our Lady of Divine Providence, SS. Peter and Paul, Three Holy Women, and the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Our program is designed to support and equip PARENTS to be the primary educators of the faith for their children and assist and UPLIFT families to live in the fullness of our Catholic faith as disciples and followers of Jesus Christ.

UPLIFT Families meetings will be entirely online using Zoom until we are able to safely meet as a group and families are comfortable meeting in person. We offer the program on two different days of the week: the Wednesday evening program (6:30-7:30 pm) and the Sunday morning program (10:30-11:30 am). You will choose either the Wednesday or Sunday Program. The content of both programs will be identical.

Each year we focus our teaching on one of the Four Pillars of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. The idea is that if a child begins our program in K5 or 1st grade and stays until 8th grade, the child will have covered the entire Catechism of the Catholic Church two times and thus deepening his/her understanding of the faith. The Four Pillars are: the Sacraments, the Creed (what we believe), Christian Prayer, and Life of Jesus (morality). Last year all families learned about the seven Sacraments and this year the focus will be on learning and practicing – prayer. We hope to deepen your families’ understanding and experience of the different prayer practices in our faith. We will continue to use the Family of Faith book series published by Sophia Institute Press and families will receive a Child’s Activity Book and Parent Book to use during the meetings.

First Reconciliation and First Communion:
Children in 2nd grade receive these additional sacramental preparation opportunities to deepen their understanding and love for the sacraments: First Reconciliation Workshop (Jan/Feb), First Communion Retreat (March), and First Communion Rehearsal & Banner Making (April). Children are expected to attend all sacramental preparation activities with at least one parent/guardian.
