A few months ago, after visiting one of our shut-ins who I haven’t seen in over a year, my heart was filled with many emotions. I went to the nearest adoration chapel, turning everything over to our Lord. He enlightened my heart profoundly, helping me see the beauty in these simple visits. I have always had a great devotion to St. Theresa of Lisieux, and her “little way” surfaced in my prayer. We encounter Jesus in meeting others in the ordinary. It is called the “little way” precisely because it is simple, direct, yet calling for amazing courage and commitment.
On Tuesday, June 29 and Wednesday, June 30, we launched the Little Way Outreach to our homebound, and went into homes to visit, offer prayer, communion and give a light lunch. Thank you to John Glaser, Laurie Jacobs, John Jacobs, Karen Guszkowski, Linda Koenig, Fr. Michael Malucha, Mary Ellen Shea, Maureen Siever, Margaret Wittig, Monica and Ross Vietch. Christians have been attracted to St. Theresa’s approach; her “little way” seems to put holiness of life within the reach of ordinary people. Live out your days with confidence in God’s love for you and recognize that each day is a gift in which your life can make a difference by the way you choose to live it. Thank you for sharing Christ’s love!
We plan to offer the Little Way Outreach again on August 10 or 11, so please let us know if you are interested in joining our team of volunteers, or if you would like to be added to our homebound list and receive a visit. Please contact Terri Balash, Director of Pastoral Care, at 414-469-6173 or firstname.lastname@example.org.

“As usual, my heart is bigger and better with more love after these visits.”
“Monica and Ross were delightful visitors! I am grateful to have spent time with them. They are certainly wonderful people to bring Communion. The lunch you sent was delicious. Thank you!”
